Hello, everyone!

I've been really interested in Sweet Briar for a few months now, and I'm looking at applying next year. However, the more I look into it, the more skeptical I get. I'm all about Sweet Briar's academics and I love their traditions and all, but at the same time, I'm a little worried.

I've been judged by people a lot since I was about twelve due to my piercings, and now that I've gotten a tattoo, that sort of doubled the pressure on me to be so-called "normal." While I feel like I could sort of blossom and find a place at Sweet Briar, I'm also not sure because I've read a lot about that a lot of the girls are sort snooty or conservative or whatever. It'd be really hard for me to travel all that way and visit the campus to see what it's really like for myself because I live in Maine.

So what do you guys think? Should I listen to what other people are saying? If I'm going to spend four years of my life in one place, I want to be happy. Would some of my liberal views and my style be accepted there?

I'm not sure what attracted you to SB, but for what it's worth, Bryn Mawr has amazing academics, great traditions, and a really liberal student body. If you have any other questions/want more information about the school, I'd be happy to help out in any way that I can, and I know that Wellesley, Smith, Barnard and Mt. Holyoke also have lots of students in the comm who would be happy to provide more information about their specific schools.
